Hobonichi The Blue Marble Cover A6 Size
This Hobonichi Techo cover features the iconic photograph of the Earth as viewed from space. The photograph, called, “The Blue Marble,” is a mesmerizing piece that’s printed onto the cover for a simple design that’s universal and well-suited for all Earth inhabitants.
The photograph was taken on December 7, 1972 by astronauts aboard the Apollo 17 spacecraft while traveling to the moon. It was the first time the general population had seen such a clear and full image of the earth from a distance.
While there have been several images of the earth taken from space, it’s rare to be able to capture a shot of the planet with the sunlight covering the entirety of the exposed side. So out of all the images of the earth, this amazing photograph is the one people usually think of first.
NASA has made the image available for free use under the international law of Common Heritage of Mankind.
The back of the cover reads, How many people on earth do you think have seen the world as round with their own eyes?
